June 20, 2011 – Gowlings Russia / CIS is very pleased to welcome Alexander Sobolev, a senior patent attorney and accomplished Russian scientist, to its Life Sciences Group.
Sobolev is a significant addition to Gowlings’ growing Moscow-based legal team, which has added six new IP lawyers in the past year.
A graduate of Moscow State University with a PhD in biochemistry, Sobolev also completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the IUPUI School of Medicine in Indianapolis, in the U.S. Over his 25-year career, Sobolev has invented/authored several of his own patents. He has written extensively in the life sciences field in both Russian and English languages.
His professional skills include strategic advice, patent drafting and prosecution in pharmaceutical and biotech sciences before Russian, CIS and Eurasian patent offices. Prior to joining Gowlings, Sobolev worked as a senior specialist with one of the leading IP rights protection firms in Russia.
