It was with great pride that Gowlings accepted four significant IP awards at the Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) gala in Washington D.C. This is an outstanding achievement and a definitive reflection of the high standard of work consistently produced by the IP team.

Gowlings dominated Managing IP’s practice area awards, taking home top honours in three of the six “Firm of the Year” categories: Patent Prosecution, Trade mark Prosecution and Trade mark Contentious. Gowlings was also nominated for “Firm of the Year” for Patent Contentious and Copyright.

In addition, the team won “Case of the Year 2012 – Trade mark” for its work in Masterpiece v Alavida Inc., a precedent-setting Supreme Court case, and Gowlings partner Arthur Renaud was recognized for his efforts with a nomination for “Outstanding IP Practitioner of the Year.”

Gowlings was proudly represented at the gala by James Buchan, Stéphane Caron, Anthony Creber, Kelly Gill, James Longwell and Omar Nassif.
