Jack Yong is a partner in Gowlings' Vancouver office, practising corporate and commercial law. He is co-chair of both Gowlings’ China Initiative and its Technology Industry Group in Vancouver.

Jack has experience in broad aspects of corporate reorganizations, business acquisitions and dispositions, financing, partnerships and joint ventures, with a particular emphasis on the technology sector.  Jack has acted for investors and companies in angel and venture capital financings, technology licensing transactions, co-development agreements and strategic alliances, and manufacturing and distribution arrangements.

Jack is also actively involved in real estate development, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and financing matters. He works closely with clients on subdivisions, multi-unit residential and mixed-use developments, industrial and commercial leases, property management and expropriation.

In the above and other areas, Jack has assisted many clients from outside Canada.  He has helped many foreign companies and investors establish businesses, invest, acquire assets and enter other types of commercial transactions in Canada.

Jack is fluent in both Mandarin and Cantonese.
