John represents lenders and borrowers in both domestic and international financial services matters as well as banks in all areas of commercial law, including financing transactions and enforcement of security.

John's practice also extends to the insolvency area with a focus on receivership, bankruptcy and financial reorganization issues. In this capacity, he represents receivers, trustees in bankruptcy, liquidators and secured and unsecured creditors, and provides advice on insolvency matters to corporations and government agencies.

John formerly served on the Insolvency Section executive of the Canadian Bar Association and was a previous head of the Gowlings National Practice Group for Insolvency and Restructuring.
