(Disponible en anglais seulement) Konrad Sechley is a principal patent agent in Gowlings' Vancouver office and chair of Gowlings' Life Science Industry Group. He is the former national leader of the Patent Prosecution Practice Group. His practice focuses on patent protection in the biotechnological, agricultural, pharmaceutical chemical, cleantech, biofuel and bioenergy sectors in Canada, U.S. and abroad. He works with a full range of clients including government, university and hospital research labs, startup and mid-sized biotech, cleantech, pharmaceutical and multinational corporations.
He is a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States and a qualified Canadian patent examiner.
Prior to joining Gowlings, Konrad worked as a post-doctoral research scientist in several university, government and industrial research labs in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology (cloning, protein sequencing, antibody production, analysis of developmentally induced genes).
Konrad is involved in the training of patent agents within Gowlings, the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada and the International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys.
