(Disponible en anglais seulement) Laurie Livingstone is a partner in Gowlings’ Calgary office, practising in the areas of commercial litigation and administrative law.
Her practice includes matters heard in the traditional court system as well as matters before private arbitration panels. In her complex commercial litigation practice, Laurie has acted for large utilities and other regulated companies in product liability actions, complex contractual disputes and disputes revolving around legislative interpretation.
Laurie also has particular expertise in the area of voluntary, self-governing associations. She regularly acts for political parties, religious organizations and other societies in disputes regarding discipline and internal governance. She also has extensive experience acting for post-secondary educational institutions.
Since being called to the bar, Laurie has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Alberta Court of Queen’s Bench, the Court of Appeal of Alberta, the New Brunswick Court of Queen’s Bench, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal and a Royal Commission. Laurie has also made representations in writing to the Supreme Court of Canada and to the First Circuit Court of Appeal for the State of California.
Prior to joining Gowlings, Laurie was a partner at a large Toronto firm.
