NOS GENS

Lisa Sim is an associate counsel in Gowlings' Vancouver office and a member of the Intellectual Property Group. She is also a registered patent agent in Canada and the United States.  

Lisa's practice involves the preparation and prosecution of national and international patent applications in the life sciences field with an emphasis on biotechnology, health, medical devices, agriculture, forestry, as well as environmental technologies. She provides strategic patent counselling and assists companies in managing their intellectual property portfolios. She also conducts intellectual property due diligence and technology audits, manages patent disputes including assessing patent infringement and validity risks.

Prior to joining Gowlings, Lisa worked for ten years as IP counsel and patent agent for a Canadian IP boutique where she was co-chair of the Vancouver patent department and also managed the Vancouver office.
