(Disponible en anglais seulement) Louis Frapporti is a litigator in Gowlings' Hamilton and Toronto offices. His practice covers a wide range of litigation, including but not limited to, contract and negligence claims, debt recovery, insurance defence, particularly in the areas of product liability and personal injury defence, shareholder disputes and appellate advocacy.
In conjunction with the Firm's IT professionals he is pioneering new systems and approaches to the management of claims on a portfolio basis which are designed to reduce litigation costs as well as increasing efficiency and speed.
In addition to his role as an advocate, Louis has considerable expertise in the area of records management and e-discovery.
Louis has appeared as counsel before all levels of courts in Ontario and before the Federal Court of Canada
Following his call to the Bar, Louis served a two-year appointment as law clerk to the Office of the Chief Justice of Ontario.
Louis is a past chair of the Firm's Commercial Litigation National Practice Group; the immediate past head of the Hamilton advocacy department; the founder and supervising partner of Gowlings' Records Management Services Group, which provides records management and e-discovery services; and the founder and supervising partner of the Firm's XClaim - Portfolio Claims Management practice.
