(Disponible en anglais seulement) Marion Bailey-Canham is a partner and registered trade-mark agent in Gowlings' Ottawa office and a member of the Intellectual Property Group. Marion has extensive practice expertise in prosecution, registrability opinions, licensing requirements, transfer of intellectual property, protection of existing rights, domain name protection, Trade-marks Opposition Board and summary cancellation proceedings. She services a broad range of clients interested in protecting trade-mark rights in Canada and worldwide.
Marion's clients include major international intellectual property counsel, multinational corporations to small business owners as well as financial and educational institutions and other organizations. She is experienced with all levels of prosecution from search opinions and applications to evidence, cross examination, written arguments and representation at oral hearings.
She is an active promoter of IP mediation and an appointed Neutral on INTA’s panel as well as founding member and director of IP Neutrals of Canada. Marion is vice-chair of IPIC’s ADR committee and chair of INTA’s ADR Neutrals Standards & Measurement sub-committee. Marion is also an active member of IPIC’s Forums & Seminars committee and a strong advocate and provider of IP education for the profession.
