Maryam Dorafshar is an associate in Gowlings’ Toronto office, practising in the area of commercial real estate. She is a member of both Gowlings’ Real Estate National Practice Group and National Corporate Finance and M&A Group.

Prior to law school, Maryam worked as a project manager in Silicon Valley, California where she assisted Canadian entrepreneurs in attracting U.S. venture capital through conferences and seminar programs. Her contributions enabled a number of start-ups to deal directly with leading venture capitalists and increased the demand for similar conferences and seminar programs.

Maryam summered and completed her articles with Gowlings. During her real estate rotation, she was part of a team that represented a large international bank in procuring commercial real estate across Canada for the creation of various investment funds. Maryam also worked on a number of leasing and financing transactions.

Maryam is fluent in English and French and conversational in Italian and Farsi.
