Meghan O’Brien is a partner in Gowlings' Ottawa office practising in the advocacy department. Her litigation practice focuses primarily on professional liability, personal injury and administrative law, including acting as counsel for physicians on behalf of the Canadian Medical Protective Association.

Meghan has represented clients at all levels of court in Ontario, at the Nunavut Court of Justice and at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has also appeared as counsel at Coroner’s inquests (both in Ontario and Nunavut), before the Discipline Committee of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario and before the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board. Earlier in her career, Meghan practised insurance defence and general litigation at an Ottawa litigation boutique.
