Philip Kennedy is a senior associate in the advocacy department of Gowlings’ Hamilton office.  His practice focuses on commercial, corporate and banking litigation. 

Philip has acquired broad litigation experience with prominent law firms in both Canada and Australia. In addition to general commercial litigation, his experience includes dealing with product liability disputes; retail banking and investment industry disputes; financial services regulation and regulator inquiries; misleading advertising and other competition law disputes; commercial insurance litigation; and arbitrations. Philip’s skills as an advocate have been recognized by several academic prizes and awards, as well as by his colleagues, throughout his legal career to date. 

Philip commenced his legal career as a litigation associate with a prominent law firm in Toronto.  Philip has also worked internationally, as a litigator, financial services lawyer, and as a senior legal counsel for Australia’s largest bank.
