René Bissonnette is an associate in Gowlings' Toronto office, practising in the area of Intellectual Property with a focus on advertising, marketing and regulatory law.

As an articling and summer student with Gowlings, René’s experience focused on social media policy analysis, advertising copy review and privacy law. René has also appeared before the Ontario Small Claims Court.

While living in Sydney, Australia, René volunteered with the New South Wales Court of Appeal and the New South Wales Bar Association.

While on exchange at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne, René studied private international law.

René is fluent in French.
