Ruth Austin is a law clerk in Gowlings' Ottawa office working in the insurance defence group.

Ruth prepares all documentation related to insurance defence litigation, including pleadings, affidavits of documents, medical summaries, Evidence Act notices, pre-trial memoranda, and trial preparation. She interviews and co-ordinates witnesses for hearings and regularly retains experts to give opinions on files. She conducts investigations and is involved with all aspects of work within the insurance defence group.

She has extensive knowledge of the procedures under the Rules of Civil Procedure. She also has experience in the management and organization of large files and extensive experience in trial preparation.
