(Disponible en anglais seulement) Ryan Campbell is an associate in the advocacy department of Gowlings' Toronto office, practising with the Firm's Occupational Health and Safety and Employment & Labour National Practice Groups. His practice focuses on occupational health and safety law, workers' compensation law, and related employment and labour law matters. He also has an interest in the area of computer applications and the design of software tools for lawyers.
Ryan was both a summer student and an articling student at Gowlings. During his articles, he was seconded to the Canadian subsidiary of a German engineering conglomerate where he gained exposure to commercial litigation, employment law, regulatory compliance matters and contract negotiations from a client perspective. Prior to pursuing his law degree, Ryan worked for a boutique law firm specializing in workers' compensation law. Ryan has also completed a year of study in the Honours Business Administration program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, and a semester abroad at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark where he studied international law.
Ryan has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Justice, the Small Claims Court, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and the Ontario Labour Relations Board.
