(Disponible en anglais seulement) Sumiko Mori is a registered Patent Agent in Canada and the United States practising in Gowlings' Ottawa office. Sumiko's practice focuses on drafting and prosecuting applications relating to computer-related inventions, electronics, and telecommunications.
Prior to joining the firm, Sumiko spent five years as a research engineer for Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, where she worked in the research and development of radar/antenna systems. Involved in the development of computer systems for data analysis, data base compilation and strategic analysis, Sumiko responsibilities also included research in signal analysis and target identification.
Sumiko worked with the Fukami Patent Firm in Osaka, drafting patent applications, preparing responses for filing in the Japanese and foreign Patent Offices in the field of semiconductor devices, telecommunications and computer-related inventions, before qualifying as a patent attorney before the Japanese Patent Office in 1998.
