OUR PEOPLE

Anika is an associate in Gowlings’ Ottawa office practising with the Advocacy Law Group.

Anika specializes in the areas of medical defence, with a focus on professional liability, medical malpractice and disciplinary matters, and Aboriginal land claims.  She has represented clients at the Superior Court of Justice and before the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board, and coroner's inquests.

During her studies, Anika completed internships with the Supreme Court of Canada and the Department of Public Prosecutions (Federal).  Prior to attending law school, Anika worked as a project manager for Central and Eastern Canada for the national non-profit organization, Youth Canada Association (YOUCAN).
