Anne Mundy-Markell is the director of student and associate affairs in Gowlings' Ottawa office. Anne joined the advocacy department of Gowlings' Ottawa office in 1998, practising primarily as defence counsel on behalf of insurance companies and as counsel to not-for-profit and charitable organizations on matters relating to governance and legal risk management.
In June 2002, Anne was appointed as director of student and associate affairs. Her responsibilities consist of organizing and overseeing the recruitment, orientation, training and career development of law school summer students, articling students, and associates in the Ottawa office.
Prior to entering law, Anne was a primary school teacher in Ottawa, Toronto and Germany, and a civilian administrative officer with the Canadian Forces in Europe. Further, Anne has taught for Seneca College in courses pertinent to community policing and law enforcement, as well as in the area of business law. Anne is a frequent presenter on law firm recruitment to Canadian law schools and publishes extensively in the NALP (National Association for Law Placement) Bulletin.
