Belinda Bain is a partner in Gowlings' Toronto office, practising in the area of advocacy. Belinda's broad practice base deals primarily with employment, insurance, municipal liability, professional liability and commercial litigation matters.
Belinda has appeared as counsel at all levels of the Ontario Superior Court and at the Ontario Court of Appeal as well as before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Ministry of Labour, the Ontario Human Rights Commission, and numerous alternative dispute resolution fora. She has acted as counsel to the Discipline Committee of the Ontario College of Pharmacists, and currently acts as Fund Counsel to the Hepatitis C Class Action Settlement Fund.
Belinda is a former faculty member of the University of Toronto Law School Trial Advocacy course, and a former instructor at the Law Society of Upper Canada Bar Admission course, Civil Litigation section.
Belinda has spoken at numerous seminars on issues relating to employment and insurance law, including The Advocates' Society "Tricks of the Trade" seminar, the Insurance Institute of Ontario, the Metropolitan Toronto Lawyer's Association, the Ontario Bar Association Continuing Legal Education and the Rotman School of Business.
