William Walker is a partner in Gowlings' Hamilton office. William practises in the area of banking and insolvency law, with particular emphasis on the rights and remedies of mortgage lenders.

During his more than 30 years of experience in the area, William provided counsel to financial institutions regarding the workout of mortgage loan portfolios. He also has assisted Court appointed receivers/liquidators with asset realization from the wind-up of several trust companies and financial institutions in Canada.

He co-developed the Power of Sale "expert system" with Gowlings partner Mark Tamminga and continues to have an active interest in computer enhancement of legal practice and the impact of technology on the legal profession.

A frequent contributor of articles to various professional journals, William's writings focus on mortgage remedy and power of sale issues. He has also written on the topic of alternative billing strategies for the legal profession.
