Carl Hinzmann is an associate in Gowlings’ Toronto Tax Group.  His practice includes tax dispute resolution, compliance and income tax planning.

Carl’s tax dispute resolution practice includes advising and representing clients at the audit and notice of objection stages, as well as before the Tax Court of Canada and Federal Court when necessary.  In addition, Carl has experience preparing voluntary disclosures, taxpayer relief and rectification applications and advising clients facing enforcement action by tax authorities.

His tax compliance and planning practice includes a broad range of income tax matters, including personal tax and succession planning, corporate tax planning and charities compliance.

Prior to joining Gowlings, Carl worked for the Canada Revenue Agency’s T3 Estate and Trust Returns Division.
