Ms. Catherine Fagan is an associate at Gowlings’ Montréal office. She practises in Aboriginal law as well as constitutional and administrative law. She works primarily as legal counsel with various Cree entities in Quebec.

Before joining Gowlings as a student in 2006, Catherine was an intern with the United Nations Environment Programme working in the area of protection of Indigenous traditional knowledge. She also worked as a researcher for the inter-university project “Autochtonie et gouvernance” in the area of Aboriginal economic development. Ms. Fagan interned with the Maori Waikato-Tainui Tribal Council in New Zealand, during which time she prepared a report on co-management regimes to be used in Federal negotiations. Catherine was also a summer student at the Department of Justice in Vancouver in the Aboriginal litigation department.

She practises law in French and English as well as being fluent in Spanish and German.
