Claude Gravel is a partner in Gowlings' Montréal office, practising in the Employment and Labour Law Group. As an employer counsel, Claude mainly acts for corporations from governmental, institutional and private sectors.

He has developed particular knowledge in collective work relations as chief negotiator and strategic employer counsel in a diversity of matters pertaining to the Québec Government or municipal bodies. His experience is widely recognized in the manufacturing sector (forestry, transportation, metallurgy, and services).

He acts as spokesperson regarding the closing of the first collective agreements pursuant to the Act respecting the representation of certain home childcare providers and the negotiation process for their group agreements. He also has in-depth knowledge of the Act respecting Labour relations, vocational training and workforce management in the construction industry.

Claude regularly appears before common law and administrative courts specializing in employment and labour law, as well as administrative law, in matters pertaining, among others, to the enforcement of the Labour Code and of the Canada Labour Code, as well as in matters of grievances adjudication.

For the past few years, he has given many presentations on the subject of collective agreement negotiation and inappropriate uses of technology in the workplace.

Prior to joining Gowlings, Claude worked at a prominent law firm in the Québec City region.

He practises in English and French.
