OUR PEOPLE

Clifford Cole is a partner and a past national practice service area leader (litigation) in Gowlings' Toronto office. He is also a former head of the Toronto litigation department.

Clifford's practice focuses upon complex commercial litigation with particular emphasis on contract disputes, shareholder litigation, professional liability claims and environmental law. His practice also includes cross-border disputes in the areas of environmental, product liability and class action litigation. Given his experience, he provides strategic and cost-effective advice and direction both prior to and during the course of litigation.

Clifford has appeared as counsel in numerous proceedings in the Ontario Court (General Division), the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and various administration tribunals. Mediation and arbitration are integral elements of his practice.
