Colin Brousson is a partner in the Vancouver office of Gowlings and national leader of the firm's Restructuring and Insolvency Group. He advises clients on corporate reorganizations, bankruptcies, receiverships, foreclosures, and loan workout situations.
Colin has an extensive record of representing major stakeholders in corporate restructuring engagements in various industries. He acts for all parties affected by the insolvency process including: debtors, lenders, purchasers, secured and unsecured creditors, directors, as well as various accounting firms in their capacity as trustees, receivers and monitors.
He is one of nine lawyers in B.C. appointed to the Insolvency Institute of Canada, an organization that recognizes excellence in the area of insolvency and restructuring. He has been recognized in Benchmark Canada as a Litigation Star for insolvency and as a Future Star in B.C. He is also co-chair of the B.C. Model Order Committee, responsible for production and revision of model orders used in all insolvency proceedings in the province of British Columbia.
