Deborah advises on the tax issues relating to domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, public market debt and equity transactions and corporate reorganizations. She has particular experience with mergers, acquisitions and dispositions and securities and financing transactions in the energy and natural resources sector and has provided tax advice on merger and financing transactions involving income trusts. Deborah also advises clients in the real estate sector, particularly in respect of structuring domestic and cross-border and international financings and securities transactions.

Deborah also has extensive experience dealing with charities and non-profit organizations, small business tax planning and executive compensation. For many years Deborah advised aboriginal groups on corporate, commercial and tax planning matters including the structuring of tax-exempt aboriginal organizations and commercial joint ventures in the energy and natural resources sector.
