Elisa Scali is a partner in Gowlings' Ottawa office practising in the area of civil litigation with a particular emphasis on the areas of insurance defence and employment law.
Elisa is a member of Gowlings’ National Employment and Labour Law Practice Group and provides advice to clients regarding all aspects of employment law including wrongful dismissal, human rights, absenteeism and disability matters, employee benefits, and privacy issues, She also assists employers in reviewing or drafting employment contracts, policy manuals, confidentiality, non-disclosure and non-competition agreements.
Elisa is a member of Gowlings’ Occupational Health & Safety group and provides assistance to clients with respect to occupational health and safety, and workplace safety and insurance related matters. She has appeared as counsel at all levels of court within Ontario, including the Superior Court of Justice, Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal.
Active in the legal and local community, Elisa has spoken on a wide variety of topics relating to insurance law and employment law for the Law Society of Upper Canada, Ontario Bar Association, Lorman Education Services, County of Carleton Annual Civil Litigation Conference, Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario and Gowlings’ in-house seminars. She has also been a seminar leader at the Bar Admission Course.
