Elsa Garagnon is an associate in Gowlings' London office, practising in the Energy, Mining and Infrastructure Group.
Elsa has transactional and advisory experience in finance with a focus on project finance. She has represented lenders and sponsors on developing and financing international projects in the infrastructure and energy sectors, including oil & gas and renewables. Elsa has also worked on acquisition finance transactions and structured finance transactions involving acquisitions of portfolios of real estate loans.
Prior to joining Gowlings, Elsa completed her legal training at a top-5 English 'magic circle' firm. Upon qualification, she joined the Project Development & Finance team of a top-20 US firm and gained further experience at an internationally-recognised US energy-specialist firm.
Elsa is a native French speaker.

- Advised international sponsors on the development and financing of the Medgaz Algeria-Spain pipeline.
- Advised the lenders on the refinancing and upgrading of India-based oil assets.
- Advised a private equity firm on the development and financing of wind farm projects in the UK and Sweden.
- Advised the sponsors on the conventional and Sharia-compliant financing of a Kuwaiti petrochemicals project.
- Advised a NYSE-listed shipping group on its acquisition financing to fund the purchase of six icebreaker vessels.
- Advised the borrower on its acquisition financing of a portfolio of winebars across the UK.
- Advised a private equity firm on its purchase of mortgage-backed Notes to be listed on the Irish Stock Exchange.
- Advised a private equity firm on its purchases of loans secured by portfolios of European real estate.
