Gloria Geddes is a partner, the Tax Office Group leader in Toronto and the national leader of the Executive Compensation Group.
In her taxation of executive compensation practice Gloria is involved in all aspects of the design and implementation of tax-effective executive compensation plans for public and private sector employers, including stock option plans, share appreciation rights, share bonus and share purchase plans, restricted share unit (RSU) plans, deferred share unit (DSU) plans and performance based medium and long-term incentive plans. Her practice includes advising Canadian and international clients on how to deal with stock option plans in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and other transactions.
In addition to her taxation of executive compensation practice, Gloria has extensive experience in advising corporate clients on all taxation aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and financings. Gloria is also involved in the creation and structuring of innovative and tax-effective financial products for clients in the investment industry.
Gloria has written and presented numerous papers at tax seminars and conferences and her articles have been published in Taxation of Executive Compensation and the Canadian Tax Journal.
