Grant Lynds is a partner in Gowlings' Ottawa office practising in the area of intellectual property litigation, including pharmaceutical patent litigation. Grant’s practice also extends to patent preparation and prosecution, primarily in the mechanical arts, patent licensing, opinions, and portfolio management.
Prior to joining Gowlings, Grant gained private practice experience in patent and trade-mark litigation and spent a number of years as in-house litigation counsel with a multinational telecommunications company. In that role, Grant negotiated patent licences and managed U.S. and Canadian litigation, arbitration and mediation in a variety of subject areas, including patent and copyright infringement, breach of contract and product liability.
Grant is also a registered patent agent in Canada, a patent attorney in the United States, a professional engineer in Alberta and Ontario and a trade-mark agent in Canada.
