Greg Lindsey is a partner in Gowlings’ Calgary office and is the leader of its Tax Practice Group. He practices in the area of tax law, with a focus on corporate acquisition and reorganization tax planning, including acquisitions, mergers and sales (including oil and gas properties) and non-resident corporation planning involving the foreign affiliate and foreign investment entity regimes.
Prior to joining Gowlings, Greg was a partner at a nationally-recognized, Alberta-based boutique tax firm. Greg has also completed his chartered accountant designation.  Greg has provided tax planning and structuring advice in respect of the following matters:
A large energy company, including the spin-out of $1 billion+ in natural gas assets to a new publicly-traded income trust
The sale of $700+ million in heavy oil and natural gas assets by a Canadian-based public company
The spin-out of natural gas properties into a new publicly-traded company
The acquisition by an income trust of $300+ million of petroleum and natural gas assets
The acquisition and sale of a $100+ million Canadian-based energy services company
