Hélène D'Iorio is a partner in Gowlings' Montréal office and heads the office's intellectual property department. She specializes in intellectual property, including intellectual property litigation, patent, industrial design and trade-mark prosecution with particular emphasis on pharmaceutical, biotechnological and chemical matters. Since 2007, she has been a member of the Firm’s Montréal office Management Committee.

Hélène has a leading-edge expertise in pharmaceutical products. She advises her clients on international strategy and management of intellectual property portfolios and she has experience in technology licensing. She is a registered patent agent in Canada and in the United States.

Hélène has spoken to various associations on such topics as biotechnology licensing, patenting of life forms, management of an intellectual property portfolio and the regulatory framework in Canada.

In addition to being a lawyer, she is a registered Canadian and U.S. patent agent.

She practises law in French and in English and acts before the Federal Court of Canada.
