Henry Ohab is an associate and a registered U.S. patent attorney in the Intellectual Property group at Gowlings' Toronto office. Henry was called to the California Bar in 1995 and upon his move to Toronto in 2008, he registered with the Law Society of Upper Canada as a foreign legal consultant in Ontario.

Henry's background includes legal as well as engineering experience with several high technology companies in California's Silicon Valley region. He has drafted and prosecuted hardware, software user interface and mechanical patent applications across diverse technology products such as handheld computer devices, computer data networking and programmable semiconductor devices.

Henry served as in-house counsel with several high technology companies, building and managing patent portfolios, enforcing patent rights, managing patent demands from competitors and other adverse third parties, and providing freedom-to-operate patent opinions. He has performed patent design-around analysis to advise and guide new product development efforts, drafted and negotiated patent license agreements, joint venture technology and product development agreements, and performed due diligence analysis with regard to acquisition of patent portfolios. He has assisted in several patent litigation cases.
