Jane Clark is a partner in Gowlings' Ottawa office, practising in the Intellectual Property Group. Jane has more than 20 years of experience in intellectual property matters. Her practice focuses on patent litigation in the Federal Court of Canada including Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) litigation. She also has extensive expertise in strategic advice and planning on intellectual property matters. Jane also assists clients before the Patented Medicines Price Review Board.
Jane acts for a wide range of Canadian and foreign clients including leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies.
Jane is a Lexpert® endorsed counsel for Intellectual Property. She also enjoys leading rankings in Who's Who Legal, Life Sciences; PLC Which Lawyer (Life Sciences, Patent Litigation); as one of "The Best Lawyers in Canada®" in the specialty of intellectual property law litigation and is among IAM 250’s “World’s Leading Patent Practitioners“ for Canada (2012) where she is described as “fantastic resource.” Jane is a Certified Licensing Professional™ of the Licensing Executives Society.
Since joining Gowlings in 1988, she has enjoyed various leadership roles including a four-year term on the Ottawa Office Management Committee as Ottawa IP Department Head (2001-2004), a three year term as the National Leader of Gowlings' China Group (2005-2008) and a four year term as the National Leader of Gowlings' Life Sciences Industry Group (2008-2011).
