OUR PEOPLE

Josée Gervais is an associate in Gowlings' Montréal office. Josée practises in the area of employment and labour law. She became an associate in 2009, upon completion of her articling at the Firm.

Josée assists and advises several global and national employers with all aspects of employment law, including without limitation, preparation and revision of individual employment agreements (including termination and restrictive covenants), as well as creation and implementation of employment policies and procedures (hours of work, vacation, statutory leaves and holidays, performance and disciplinary management, drug and alcohol testing, criminal background checks, employment termination).

In addition, Josée advises and assists employers in the areas of Occupational Health and Safety, Pay Equity, Human Rights and Labour Relations. Josée is often involved in the preparation of opinions on all employment and labour issues.

Before beginning her studies in law, Josée studied and worked in the field of journalism. During law school she won several awards in recognition of her academic excellence. Josée is currently completing her Master’s degree in law (LLM), specializing in labour and employment law at the University of Montréal.
