Laurent Roy is a partner in Gowlings’ Montréal office, acting as a legal adviser within the Firm’s business law area, specifically in the field of real estate law.

He has been called to advise a large number of real estate promoters in cases pertaining to land assembly, real estate and shopping centres sale and acquisition, business acquisition and projects of divided and undivided co-ownership.

As part of his practice, Laurent has acted as an in-house legal counsel and continues to be an external legal counsel of a national grocery store company in the negotiation and drafting of offers to lease and lease agreements related to the development of shopping centres, or real estate purchase and sale agreements. He acts for a real estate investment trust specialized in the acquisition of industrial class buildings. His practice is furthermore focused on the negotiation and drafting of various agreements.

Laurent also took part in a Continuing Legal Education training on Advanced Commercial Leasing at Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.), Law Center (2010, 2011).

He practises in English and French.
