Maria Donato is a law clerk in the Gowlings' Ottawa office. She works in the area of advocacy with an emphasis on health law and medical defence.
Maria has extensive knowledge of Rules of Procedures of various courts and administrative tribunals across Canada. Her responsibilities include reviewing legal documents with respect to health law and medical defence matters for all jurisdictions across Canada, drafting correspondence, summarizing reports, organizing, tracking and maintaining document files and case correspondence.
Before rejoining Gowlings in May of 2010, Maria worked for Thomas C. Assaly Corporation where she gained extensive knowledge in landlord and tenant matters. She also worked for the Department of National Defence in the Judge Advocate General’s office, as well as gaining valuable experience earlier in her career in Gowlings in the areas of civil and commercial litigation.
