Mark Tamminga became a partner with Gowlings in 1993. He practises in real estate law and recovery services, with a focus on mortgage remedies, creditors' rights and general insolvency. He also has a particular interest in the area of computer applications and the design of software tools for lawyers.

Mark is a regular presenter on the subject of automation in legal practice and has participated in numerous technology conferences in Canada and the United States. From 1999 to 2003 he was a member of the planning board for the ABA's Annual Techshow Conference, assuming the role of vice-chair in 2002 and chair in 2003.

Mark devotes considerable energy to writing about technology issues. He recently co-authored a book on Extranets for Lawyers and contributes a regular column to the ABA's Law Practice Management magazine.

Mark is fluent in English and French.
