Martin Palleson practices in the areas of general commercial litigation, with an emphasis on involvency and restructuring disputes. Martin also has significant experience in Franchise, construction, and insurance litigation as well as environmental/natural resource law, and aboriginal law.
Martin has appeared frequently at all levels of British Columbia and Federal Courts. Martin also has experience in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. Martin is currently head of the Advocacy Department at the Gowlings Vancouver office.
Called to the British Columbia Bar in 1986, Martin has been practising law for 25 years. He obtained his L.L.B. from the University of British Columbia in 1985, and was awarded the Gold Medal for achieving the highest marks in his class. In 1988 Mr. Palleson also received his Masters Degree in Law from Oxford University (B.C.L., 1987/88).
Mr. Palleson was an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law teaching natural resources law from September, 1991 until 1995. He has also published numerous legal articles.
