OUR PEOPLE

Matthew Karabus is an articling student at Gowlings’ Toronto office with the bulk of his rotation in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice Groups.

Originally from South Africa, Matthew holds BA and LLB degrees from the University of Cape Town.  During his law studies, he was a member of the Law Students’ Council and the managing editor of the 2009 edition of the university law journal.  As a summer student, Matthew gained a keen interest in advocacy while clerking at the Cape Bar of Advocates and at a full-service business law firm in Cape Town. 

Prior to joining Gowlings, Matthew was employed as a teaching assistant and later took a researching position with a leading legislative commentary on the local Companies Act.
