OUR PEOPLE

Michael Garellek is an associate in Gowlings’ Montréal office, practising within the Business Law Group with a developing emphasis on corporate law, governance, finance, mergers and acquisitions, greenhouse gas regulations, and transactions on carbon markets. He also practises within the Litigation Group, specializing in particular in securities litigation, regulation and compliance.

A Chartered Accountant, Michael has worked for several years as a financial auditor with the Office of the Auditor General of Canada. Subsequently, he worked as a securities examiner with the Autorité des marchés financiers. During that time he was active on committees involved with the harmonization of securities regulation in Canada.

He has appeared before the Bureau de décision et de révision en valeurs mobilières to testify in securities litigation cases.

Michael practises law in English and French and is proficient in Hebrew.
