Mike Adlem is a partner in Gowlings’ Vancouver office. His practice emphasizes the representation of the insurance industry, policyholders, medical doctors and people who have been seriously injured. He has represented various insurers, their insureds and self-insured organizations with respect to everything from coverage issues to product liability, medical, technology, personal injury, transportation, fraud, arson, food contamination, directors’ and officers’ liability, construction, life and disability, sexual assault, environmental, maritime and professional errors and omissions claims. He defends class actions and he is also retained to handle subrogated claims.

Mike also provides regulatory advice to insurers that require business authorizations in British Columbia. He advises insurers and intermediaries regarding the compliance of insurance products and marketing proposals with British Columbia's regulatory regime. He also provides advice to insurers concerning policy wording.

Mike's elected positions have included Chairmanship of the National Insurance Section of the Canadian Bar Association (1999-2000) and Chairmanship of the Insurance Law Section of the British Columbia Branch of the Canadian Bar Association (1995-1996).
