Myriane Le François is a partner in Gowlings’ Montréal office. She practises mainly in the area of employment and labour law for both unionized and non-unionized employers.
She acts as a strategic advisor for global, national, institutional and local organizations in matters related to human resources planning and management. For example, she advises clients regarding: organization structure and reorganization, compensation plans (group benefits, pension, incentive compensation, commissions and bonus), employee management (performance, disciplinary, disability), restrictive covenants, individual and collective employment terminations, human rights and psychological harassment, occupational health & safety, workers’ compensation, employment agreements and policies, and collective agreements and labour relations.
Myriane is involved in collective bargaining certifications, transfers and negotiations. She also regularly appears before civil, penal and administrative tribunals and participates in mediation sessions.
As part of the Mergers and Acquisitions team, she oversees due diligence work and advises regarding employment and labour liabilities and strategy.
Outside of the office, Myriane teaches labour and employment law at the Montréal Bar School and is regularly invited as a guest speaker to various business and legal community events. She also sits on the board of director of Théâtre La Licorne.
Myriane practises in both English and French.
