Peter Milne is a lawyer, patent agent and trade mark agent. Mr. Milne's practice extends principally into the patent and trade mark prosecution areas and includes related matters such as industrial designs, copyright, trade secrets and confidential information, technology transfer and licensing and opinion work relating to the foregoing.
Mr. Milne is a fellow of the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC), on behalf of which he is former chair of the Toronto Patent and Trademark Informals Group. He is also a member of various professional organizations dealing with intellectual property including the International Trademark Association (INTA), the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) and the International Association for the Protection of Industrial Property (AIPPI). He sits on various committees for INTA and IPIC.
Mr. Milne is a professional engineer and a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario. He also belongs to various professional associations which relate to his background in materials science.
Mr. Milne obtained his LL.B. from the University of British Columbia and was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1988. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from McMaster University (Ceramic and Metallurgical Engineering) in 1979.
