Reed Taubner is an associate in the Ottawa office of Gowlings, where he practises intellectual property law.
Reed’s practice focuses on helping clients secure their trade-mark rights, which includes conducting trade-mark registrability searches, filing and managing trade-mark applications, and preparing opinions and advice. In addition to helping clients secure trade-mark registration in Canada, Reed helps clients coordinate their trade-mark portfolios in many jurisdictions abroad.
Reed also assists clients involved in trade-mark disputes, which includes defending trade-mark applications and registrations from attack, as well as opposing third party trade-mark applications. Reed has appeared before the Trade-marks Opposition Board in both opposition and summary cancellation proceedings.
A former managing editor of the Queen's Law Journal, Reed is a published author in the field of trade-mark law.
