Ronald Snyder is recognized by the Law Society of Upper Canada as a certified specialist in labour law. Heading up the Firm's Ottawa office labour law group, Mr. Snyder services clients across the Country. His practice is restricted to representing both public and private sector employers in a wide variety of human resource, labour and employment contexts before an array of administrative tribunals and courts.
An experienced adviser on all aspects of the law governing the relationship between employers and their employees, Mr. Snyder regularly participates in labour board proceedings, grievances and arbitrations, employment standards, human rights commission and tribunal matters, union certifications, collective bargaining, wrongful dismissals, judicial reviews and appellate advocacy, health and safety matters and sexual harassment and discrimination investigations. Mr. Snyder is particularly recognized for his expertise in respect of labour and employment concerns that fall within the Federal legislative regime.
Mr. Snyder is a noted Canadian labour law author having written several textbooks, including The Annotated Canada Labour Code (Carswell), which has been annually published since 1992 and is sold widely throughout the Country, having made him a household name among those practising in the labour field. Additionally, he has recently completed a re-write of the seminal treatise Palmer and Snyder, Collective Agreement Arbitration in Canada (4th Edition, LexisNexis). As well as having co-authored the loose-leaf service Damages for Breach of Contract (Carswell), his other published works cover subject matters, including Federal Occupational Health and Safety concerns and Cases and Materials on the Administration and Enforcement of Collective Agreements.
