OUR PEOPLE

Samantha Alfonzo is an associate in Gowlings’ Hamilton office. A member of the business law department, Samantha’s practice focuses on general corporate commercial matters and transactions, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, asset and share sales, business and tax driven corporate reorganizations, lending, private placements, private equity financings and outsourcing agreements.

In addition, Samantha regularly advises clients on day-to-day corporate and commercial matters including the negotiation, review and preparation of contracts and corporate governance issues.

Samantha was both a summer student and a student-at-law with Gowlings, during which time she was seconded to the Canadian subsidiary of a German engineering conglomerate.

Samantha has acted as corporate counsel for the Canadian arm of a global steel manufacturer; the Canadian subsidiary of a German chemicals company; the Canadian subsidiary of a financial services group based in Bermuda; and in the Caribbean for a venture capital group based in Barbados.

Samantha has advised clients in the mining industry including the IPO of an Argentinian mining company registered in the British Virgin Islands; a Chilean mining exploration company in obtaining funding from a TSX listed mining corporation; and a lithium TSX listed company in its engineering projects.

Samantha is fluent in English and Spanish.
