Susan Tandan is a partner in Gowlings’ Hamilton office. She is an experienced patent agent registered to practice in both Canada and the United States. Since qualifying to practice in 1992, Susan has held positions in private practice as well as in-house with a research-based biotechnology company.
Her practice focuses on providing services and advice relating to patent protection, both locally and internationally, particularly with respect to life science technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, gene and protein-related technologies, diagnostics, agricultural, clean-tech and medical devices. She works with a broad range of clients including research-based organizations such as universities, hospitals and government, as well as industry clients at various stages from start-up to established business.
Susan is a member of Life Sciences Ontario and the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).
She has published a number of articles, and speaks regularly on topics relating to patent protection.
