Wayne Kerrick is the managing partner of Gowlings' Ottawa office. His practice focuses primarily on real estate, secured lending and construction law.
Wayne has completed numerous purchase, sale and financing transactions of all manner and size and has developed a substantial expertise in the area of construction financing and the review and interpretation of construction contracts.
- From 1997 to 2000 represented Cognos Inc. in the development and construction of their second tower located at 3775 Riverside Drive, Ottawa.
- Acted on behalf of JDS Uniphase in the assembly and acceptance of land, development and construction of their 910,000 square foot campus located at 3000 Merivale Road, Ottawa.
- Represented both owner and lenders in numerous transactions involving the development and construction of industrial, retail and office tower properties.
- Represented foreign governments in property transactions involving the purchase and sale of embassies.
Wayne has delivered lectures in both English and French to the Law Society, the Canadian Bar Association and the general public on matters relating to real estate. His published works have focused on GST and real estate issues. Wayne served as the consulting editor of The Ontario Residential Real Estate Practice Manual from 1995 to 2001 and participated in the revision and rewriting of several chapters of this loose leaf service. |
