OUR PEOPLE

Yvonne Van Vliet is a paralegal working with the advocacy department in Gowlings' Vancouver office. She provides support to lawyers specifically on insurance defence.

Yvonne prepares draft pleadings and interlocutory applications, orders and other documentation. She assesses and summarizes medical data and other information, prepares damages assessments, as well as gathers evidence and conducts legal research with respect to a variety of subjects. She has extensive knowledge of the procedures under the Supreme Court Civil Rules. 

Prior to joining Gowlings, Yvonne worked in the Claims Legal Services department of a large insurance corporation in British Columbia and gained experience at other law firms in the city.
